Course Information: This is a 20-hour course on the theory of operation, and applications of voltage regulators.
Class Prerequisites: Students should have a basic understanding of 3Ø electrical theory, electrical motors, generators and VAR flow.

Day One - 8 Hours
Why voltage regulators are needed.
History of voltage regulators.
Basic theory of what a voltage regulator does.
Day Two - 8 Hours
Use of voltage regulator with relays.
Operation of a WTA voltage regulator.
How to put a voltage regulator in and out of service.
Day Three - 4 Hours
Field trip to a plant.
Instructional hands-on operation of a voltage regulator.
