Delta Grant

The objective of the Flood Emergency Response Grants is to improve local flood emergency response and contribute to increased public safety. California public agencies in the legal Delta with primary responsibility for flood emergency response and coordination are eligible to apply for this competitive grant.

Propositions 1E and 1 make funding available to improve local flood emergency response. Up to $5 million in funding is available through this grant and requires no local match.

Draft List of Awards (Completed)

The California Department of Water Resources announced a 15-day public comment period for the Delta Flood Emergency Response Grant Program Round 2 Draft List of Awards. After careful review of the applications received from the 2016 solicitation, DWR is proposing to provide ten grants as detailed in the Draft List of Awards. The list can be accessed using the link below. This grant is designed to provide funding for local emergency responders within the Delta to improve their capacity to respond to flood emergencies. Following the close of this public comment period and review of public comments, DWR will release the Final List of Awards and notify each recipient of their grant award.

Guidelines and Proposal Solicitation Package

The Department of Water Resources has released the Delta Flood Emergency Response Grant Program Guidelines and PSP for a 60-day open application period.

Proposal Submittal

The open application period for the PSP begins on July 22, 2016 and closes September 23, 2016.

Applications must be sent and postmarked no later than September 23, 2016.

Applicants must submit three hard copy applications to DWR, one of which must contain the original signed documents.

An electronic copy must also be provided to DWR via a compact disc, flash drive, e-mail, or through FTP/cloud services. Electronic copies should be in a Microsoft Word compatible format or in a searchable PDF format with content copying enabled.
