Weather/Hydrology Briefings
Throughout flood season, weather/hydrology briefings are provided at the State-Federal Flood Operations Center by staff from both the Division of Flood Management and the National Weather Service's California-Nevada River Forecast Center. These briefings are generally scheduled from mid-October through mid-April. The frequency of briefings may range from once a week to twice daily depending on hydrologic and weather conditions. These weather/hydrology briefings include in-depth meteorological analysis followed by hydrologic impacts, either current or anticipated. These briefings are made available as live webcasts on the Internet as well as archived for later viewing.
The webcasts are only accessible to registered users. To register for the webcasts, please email your request to wx_webcast-request@water.ca.gov. As part of the request, please provide your organization name, contact information, and an explanation of your operational need for access.
For more information, please contact the Flood Operations Center at 916-574-2619, 1-800-952-5530 option 0, or by email at wx_webcast-request@water.ca.gov.
Currently, there are no weather-hydrology briefings from the State-Federal Flood Operations Center scheduled. Archived webcasts are available.
