Project No. 14579 – Alamo Powerplant Project
The Alamo Powerplant was constructed between 1982 and 1985 as part of the South State Water Project (SWP). The facility is located in the East Branch of the South SWP, approximately 1.5 miles southeast of the South SWP’s bifurcation into the West and East Branches.
The Alamo Powerplant facility operates under a conduit exemption, FERC Project No. 14579, which contains the existing 17 MW Alamo Powerplant and appurtenant facilities. The Alamo Powerplant was originally part of the licensed development for the South SWP Hydropower Project No. 2426.
