Media and Other Information Services - This includes responding to news media and public inquiries about the Department's programs, planning and directing SWP dedication ceremonies, planning and implementing media tours, and providing training and direct staff assistance during droughts and floods in responding to media and public needs during such emergencies.

News Releases are issued by the Public Affairs Office and describe California Department of Water Resources and State Water Project activities of general interest. News releases have been archived on the web since 1996.

Exhibits and displays on the State Water Project (SWP), water issues, and SWP recreation facilities are designed and exhibited by PAO's staff. Some of these are portable and are shown at selected exhibitions throughout the State.

Other exhibits and information materials are available at the Water Information Center, located in Room 115 of the Resources Building, 1416 - 9th Street, Sacramento, California.

DWR News/PeoplePublications and Videos of several types are produced by PAO. These include:

• Newsletters are produced by several organizations in DWR. DWR NEWS/People is a quarterly newsletter produced by the Public Affairs Office which contains information about DWR activities and employees. For information, contact Maggie Macias at (916) 653-8743.
• State Water Project Brochures describing various facilities of the SWP throughout California. Many of these brochures are available here in electronic format. For information, contact Maggie Macias at (916)653-8743.
• Video Library on a variety of DWR, SWP, and water-related subjects. These are produced by PAO's Graphic Services staff and are available for purchase or free rental.
