Real Time Monitoring

The Environmental Real Time Monitoring and Support section monitors Delta water 24 hours a day, every day, from Martinez in Suisun Bay to Hood on the Sacramento River and Vernalis on the San Joaquin River. Data is transmitted to State Water Project operations via wireless telemetry real-time to provide information on Delta conditions. Click here for station map (D6A, in Suisun Bay; D10A, D12A, D29, P8A, C7A, C10A on the San Joaquin River;C3A on the Sacramento River) and provides instrumentation support for special studies used by scientist to find answers to the complex ecological issues that face the Delta. These systems utilize a standalone instrument (YSI Model 6600) that is dropped into the water and floated at one meter depth. At critical locations redundant Instruments are installed to insure the constant availability of data.

The Section is always ready to install at new locations as the needs of the Department change
