Welcome to the Department of Water Resources "Small Business and DVBE Program". Your business is important to us. DWR recognizes the valuable contributions of both Small and DVBE business communities and their economic impact to the State's overall financial success. We strive to proactively include small and DVBE businesses in DWR's procurement activities through direct placement of contracts into the hands of the small business and DVBE communities, through continued outreach and education and through the fostering of relationships between the prime business community and the small business and the DVBE community.

In keeping with Executive Orders S-02-06 and D-43-01, and to ensure program success, the Department has a dedicated Small Business/DVBE Advocate fully committed to achieving state mandated goals within both programs.

The DWR SB/DVBE Program website is designed to assist both Small and DVBE businesses by providing links, resources and web tools to help to increase their business's visibility for procurement opportunities within the department.

We have included information and internal and external links related to SB/DVBE certification, DWR advertised bids, SB/DVBE legislation, community event information, Infrastructure Bond Act of 2006 related to Propositions 1E and 84, and the DWR SB/DVBE Contractor Information Table which offers SB/DVBE firms the opportunity to add their names to the DWR bidders list. Finally there are links that taking you to the California Natural Resources Agency, DGS/OSDS, the Federal Small Business Administration and the Governor's California Business Portal.

Doing Business with DWR
DWR spends millions of dollars annually in the private sector conducting solicitations to purchase goods and services within the following sectors: commodities, personal services, including IT Goods and Services, and construction services. In addition to the Sacramento Headquarters office, DWR has Field Divisions and District Offices located throughout the State and each office needs varied commodities and/or services.
