The Department of Water Resources (DWR) announces the award of the 2014 Water-Energy grants. DWR is awarding $28 million to 22 entities for 25 projects that will save water and energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.




What is the Water-Energy Grant Program?

The Water-Energy Grant Program provides funds to implement water efficiency programs or projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and reduce water and energy use.

The funding for this program are appropriated from the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund to the California Department of Water Resources to establish a grant program.

Eligible Applicants: local agencies, joint powers authorities, and nonprofit organizations

Eligible Programs/Projects:

  • Residential Water Efficiency, Commercial Water Efficiency, Institutional Water Efficiency Programs, or
  • Projects that reduce greenhouse gas, reduce water and reduce energy use

Available Funding: $28,000,000
