45-Day Comment Period Opens for the Dam Safety and Enhancements (DSE) Grant Program Draft Guidelines and PSP

The California Department of Water Resources is pleased to announce the release of the Dam Safety and Enhancements Grant Program draft guidelines and proposal solicitation and ranking process (PSP) for a 45-day public comment period. This is a statewide program that will provide funding for repairs, rehabilitation, enhancements, and other dam safety projects at existing state jurisdictional dams and associated facilities. Up to $96 million is available using funds authorized by the California Budget Act of 2023 (Stats. 2023, Ch. 51, Sec. 35.)

The public comment period began on December 11, 2023, and it will close at 5:00 p.m. on January 24, 2024.

Following the review of public comments, DWR will release the final Program Guidelines and PSP to begin the solicitation period.  Comments can be submitted by one of the following methods:

1. Electronic Mail

2. Hard Copy via U.S. Mail

DWR will host a series of public meetings to provide information about the draft Program Guidelines and PSP and provide an opportunity to submit comments. Registration information will be provided on the grant program's webpage and the website calendar.
