Final Snow Survey of 2008 Season
The fifth and final snow survey of the 2008 winter season by the California Department of Water Resources will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2008, at Phillips Station, Highway 50 and Sierra at Tahoe Road (about 90 miles east of Sacramento) near Lake Tahoe.

Local Levee Assistance Program - Pre-Submittal Workshop
DWR has released the Project Solicitation Package (PSP) and guidelines for the Local Levee Assistance Program (LLAP) for the FY 2007-08 competitive funding cycle. A PRE-SUBMITTAL WORKSHOP IS PLANNED to familiarize prospective applicants with materials and to resolve questions that may arise during the application process. WORKSHOP WILL BE WEBCAST to allow internet users to follow proceedings via the FloodSAFE web site (www.water.ca.gov/floodsafe).

Light continental breakfast served at 9 a.m., meeting called to order at 9:30 a.m. and adjourning promptly at 3:00 p.m. BACKGROUND: The AFTF has been appointed by the Department of Water Resources (DWR) to address issues related to unique flood hazards associated with the rapid rate of development on alluvial fans. Task force members include federal, state, and local floodplain management officials, city, and county representatives, and development, construction, and environmental interests.
