| Swainson's Hawk - Update Staff may have noticed the Swainson's Hawk "nest cam" is down. Sad news -- part of the nest collapsed just prior to the chicks hatching. The male tried to fix it, but could not save the eggs. The nest has since fallen apart. The birds may try to re-nest, but this is rare so late in the season. The chicks' remains have been retrieved and will be provided to CA Fish & Game and UC Davis for study. |
