The State-Federal Flood Operations Center in Sacramento and the Eureka Flood Center coordinate flood response activities and disseminate flood forecasts and warnings to the public.
Staff is also available year-round to track incidents with potential flood impacts. When activated during flood emergencies, flood incidents, or other high-water events, depending on the scale of the event, one or both centers are staffed in compliance with the Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS) with additional personnel from other branches within the Department.
