Water Suppliers may now enter water use data from Urban Water Management Plans (UWMPs) and upload an electronic copy of a UWMP using the DWR Online Submittal Tool (DOST).
The user manual provides step by step instructions for using DOST. DWR encourages users to use and follow the manual. Explanations and several "work arounds" are provided for some last minute problems that have been encountered.
The manual can be accessed by either:
DOST registration is a multi-step process that will vary for different users. The process is carefully explained in this Users' Manual.

DOST will enable DWR to gather data from over 450 water agencies' UWMPs and have it aggregated into a statewide database. The database will provide information on urban water use, urban water supply reliability, recycling, water shortage contingency planning, water conservation measures, baselines, and 20x2020 water use targets. The information will be available for both public and DWR review and analysis. DWR anticipates using the analysis in the California Water Plan, legislative reports, and other statewide water planning and reporting needs. |
UWMP electronic copy can be uploaded through DOST
DWR requires that suppliers provide both a hardcopy and an electronic copy when submitting their UWMP. The hardcopy should be mailed to DWR, but the electronic copy can be uploaded through DOST or provided in a CD with the hardcopy. DWR will be revising DOST for the 2015 round of UWMPs.
DWR acknowledges that significant improvements can be made in how data is entered into DOST. Plans are already underway for revamping the system for the 2015 cycle. |
